Nandyal aims for 100% literacy by 2027, new action plan under way

The Nandyal district administration has launched a comprehensive action plan aimed at achieving 100% literacy by the year 2027. The initiative focuses on improving educational access, reducing dropout rates, and providing learning opportunities for adults who missed formal education.

As part of the programme, special literacy centres will be established in rural and urban areas to help non-literate adults acquire basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Schools, teachers, volunteers, and community organizations will work together to identify learners and encourage participation in literacy activities.

The district administration is also planning awareness campaigns, community outreach programmes, and regular monitoring of literacy progress across all mandals. Special attention will be given to disadvantaged groups to ensure that every citizen has access to quality education and learning resources.

Officials stated that improving literacy levels is essential for social and economic development. The initiative is expected to empower individuals, enhance employment opportunities, and contribute to the overall growth of Nandyal district. The administration has appealed to citizens, educational institutions, and local organizations to actively support the mission and help make Nandyal a fully literate district by 2027.
