Gas Leak Explosion Claims 2 Lives, Injures 8 in Nandyal

A gas leak explosion in Chapirevula, Nandyal, early Tuesday morning claimed the lives of two people and left eight others severely injured. The incident occurred in a weakly built house occupied by an 11-member joint family. The deceased have been identified as Subbamma (60) and Dinesh (10). The explosion caused the house’s roof to collapse, trapping the victims and injuring the others. According to fire officials, the family turned off the stove Monday night but failed to properly close the gas cylinder. The leaking gas spread throughout the house overnight. When Subbamma switched on the light in the early hours, the accumulated gas ignited, resulting in a devastating explosion.
