Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most vibrant and widely celebrated festivals in Nandyal, marking the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and prosperity. Beautifully decorated Ganesha idols are installed in homes, temples, and public pandals, where devotees offer prayers, flowers, fruits, and the traditional sweet modak.
The festival is celebrated with devotional songs, cultural programs, bhajans, and community gatherings. Special poojas and aartis are performed every day, drawing large numbers of devotees. The celebrations conclude with a grand Ganesh Visarjan (idol immersion) procession, symbolizing Lord Ganesha’s return to his heavenly abode while carrying away the devotees’ obstacles and bringing peace, happiness, and prosperity.
