The recommendations of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) on the proposed delimitation of the Lok Sabha constituencies have triggered a political debate in Andhra Pradesh, with the focus shifting to the regional implications of the exercise.The EAC-PM has recommended reorganisation of seven Lok Sabha constituencies in AP as part of its proposed model for the next delimitation exercise. Interestingly, five of the seven constituencies are located in the Rayalaseema region, leading to discussions in political circles over the possible impact of the recommendations.The constituencies recommended for division are Kadapa, Rajampet (both represented by YSRCP), Nandyal, Kurnool and Ananthapuram from Rayalaseema; and Visakhapatnam from north coastal AP. The proposal suggests splitting Visakhapatnam, Kadapa, Nandyal, Rajampet, Kurnool and Ananthapuram into three constituencies each, while Machilipatnam has been recommended for division into two constituencies.Though the recommendations are neither final nor binding, the proposed changes have generated interest among political parties as delimitation could significantly alter electoral representation in the state.

The support is expected to help the family meet the high cost of specialized medical care and treatment procedures. The approval came after the girl’s condition was brought to the attention of government authorities through local representatives and district officials. Medical experts had recommended advanced treatment, which placed a significant financial burden on the family. District officials stated that the assistance would ensure that the child receives timely treatment at a reputed medical facility. Necessary arrangements are being made to facilitate the release of funds and provide support throughout the treatment process. The news has been welcomed by local residents, who expressed happiness and relief for the family. The deadline for completing the cervical cancer vaccination programme in the State has been extended by three months till August, said Minister for Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Satya Kumar Yadav. In a statement on Monday, June 8, the Minister said the extension follows fresh instructions issued by the Union government. The programme launched in February, was initially scheduled to be completed within a three-month deadline. This has been extended till August. The HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine is being administered to 14-year-old girls in the State. Of the 3,45,000 girls identified, 2,71,071 have been vaccinated so far. None reported adverse reaction to the vaccine, the Minister said. The State received 381,780 vaccine doses from the Central government in two phases. With the new academic year beginning, officials have been instructed to ensure that the remaining girls are vaccinated. The Minister also directed officials to raise awareness about the importance of vaccination against cervical cancer among girls. Region-wise, Rayalaseem districts have performed well, especially the districts of Kurnool, YSR Kadapa, Nandyal, and also Kakinada and Palnadu. However, lower vaccination has been reported from the districts of Polavaram, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Parvathipuram Manyam, Annamayya, Anakapalli, according to a press release from the department.
